If you have a MIDI pattern you like, and your cells are linked to folders with similar samples, you can randomize all day and generate amazing drum loops from that same MIDI file. That is the core idea, but there is more.
We also have a “variation” feature. Each cell can be randomized, but you can also load up to four samples from that folder into a variation pool. By default, hitting a note plays the main sample in the cell. However, if you enable variation, every single MIDI note triggers a different sample from the pool.
This is amazing for hi-hats. It behaves like a “flip-flop” MIDI trigger, alternating samples with each note, and the results are stunning. On top of that, you can layer synthesis.
The synthesis drum kits are tied directly to the cells. Right now, the kick cell is fundamentally baked in and tied to specific synthesis parameters. While you will have the freedom to rename the cells later, right now it is baked in. It’s a different, structured approach.
