Tube Saturators – Effects Forum

I don’t know about “best” as that is highly subjective to needs and opinions, but I can point out a couple of really good ones.

The Black Box HG-2 or HG-2MS mentioned place is a good one, generally designed for enhancing tracks rather than obliterating them, though you could do that for you wanted to. The HG-Q is a tube EQ, quite unique, also worthwhile looking at.

Waves Magma BB Tubes, is both great for driving hard and subtly enhancing. Its sister Magma Channel Strip features a basic eq and compressor, but is less flexible in the tube department.

The Oven, SPL Twin Tube and Phil’s Cascade are a few more modelled tube enhancers at Plugin Alliance. The later is especially designed to also be brutal in a creative way. Arturia has their Tube Culture which is modelled after the much famed Vulture Culture. Not as flexible as many of the above, but is still famed for its use on many albums.
