The digital treasure map: a pirate’s guide to IFC

The IFC schema comes in different versions: IFC2x3, IFC4.0 and IFC4.3. It comprises roughly 1,400 entities, each representing a fundamental building block in the digital representation of construction and project data. These entities mirror how we structure projects mentally, making them intuitive for industry professionals once we overcome the strange IFC in front of the word, as well as, often, the language barrier. For example, IfcWall represents a wall, an IfcDoor a door, etc.
