raspbian – Raspberry Pi 3b+ camera not recognized

I have a new RPi 3B+ and I’ve tried connecting two different OV5647 cameras I bought with it.
However, libcamera commands always fail with ERROR: *** no cameras available ***

I checked the red LED and it does get turned on for a moment when the RPi boots up.
I tried enabling the camera from raspi-config but even with Legacy Camera enabled I get nothing.
From the Raspberry Pi Desktop I also tried enabling the camera interface configuration, but it wasn’t there (interfaces menu starts with ssh)
ls /dev/video* returns 14 items, none seem to be the camera.
I’m running Debian bullseye.
