I think you are right that it is more than one movement. I would start with a sustained patch, then use a 1/16 amp gate or LFO for the main pulse. Give the filter a smaller, separate modulation amount so the volume and tone are not opening by exactly the same amount every time.

Put the filter cutoff, envelope decay and modulation depth on one macro, then automate that macro through the arrangement for the larger accents. A little swing or manually adjusted velocity will stop it sounding like a …
