Basically, anything within the synth is allowed – mangle/distort/bitcrush etc all fine.

With free and paid for plugins, you MUST not use FX which drastically alter the sound from the synth (after any onboard fx in the synth, of course), so heavy distortion, phasing, deep external filter sweeps etc after not allowed.

Quite simple really, to be very safe, do not use modulating fx. Distortion and saturation plugins can be used, but in “moderation” (you choose what this means!!).

But again, put simply, the sounds you use should be recognisable as being from the synth itself (+ its onboard fx).
