centos – CloudLinux traceroute process causes high CPU

Recently, I noticed that the following process is running on a cPanel+CloudLinux server and is causing too much CPU usage:

1085861 root 20 0 229024 40 4 R 100.0 0.0 6795:19 /usr/bin/traceroute -T cm.cloudlinux.com

The server also has LiteSpeed but I do not believe this is making a big difference on the matter.

I was unable to find the reason and I was unable to find anything in the CL documentation about it. Has anyone noticed that or had similar issues?

I also tried to find any useful info in the forum but without any success.
