it’s that vintage, yes. I’ve only 8GB on this one. So I’m watching Memory Pressure a lot and this project isn’t any but green.
I’m very heavily samples-reliant but I’m using almost all VSL Synchron Player nowadays and these are vastly more efficient than anything else.
The only thing that isn’t VSL is Geosonics 2 in Kontakt which is a bear compared to regular samples (it uses a lotta Kontakt under-the-hood).

I don’t think there’s been any advantage to all silicon at this point. I was hyped but that project was not behaving any better than the one before, which was all instruments plugged in the old way into Cubase. which I felt was dreadful at the time.
OTOH, Activity Monitor looks like very, very litle CPU being called in the dangerous silicon proj, incl. compared to the last one. It could be my external drive (project and 99% of samples on it) was super hot. I didn’t find time to get into it today
