What is a midi yoke?

I’m using Cubase SX and Gigastudio 160 on the same machine. Can someone please tell me why I can’t record in Cubase SX playing with the performance tool?

As I record it sounds perfect, but then when I run the track I just recorded there is no “performance” feel at all to the instrument? [*-)]

Someone said that I may need a midi yoke to prevent all other midi sends from interupting. What is this midi yoke thing? I use Windows XP and someone said in another post that midi yokes are NOT for XP. That may be a problem I guess

I get kind of tired though, since without the performance tool what is the meaning of using the performance instruments at all [:(]
