Visual Studio 2026 text editor configuration not the same as 2022. How to disable formatting?

I am very familiar with Visual Studio versions 2019 and 2022.

I recently installed VS 2026. I do not like to have the VS text editor to perform any formatting for me (indents, insert spaces, etc..). I prefer to have the VS text editor to simply let me do what I want to without doing me any favors. I will describe a single issue I am having (for which any hints or tips may lead me to resolution of other issues):

My settings in “Options -> Text Editor -> Languages -> C#” are configured identical to my VS 2022 installation.

VS 2026 is relatively new, perhaps this is a known issue?
