Visual Studio 2015 / SSIS / Excel Connection Manager Issue (The requested OLE DB provider Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.15.0 is not registered).

Hi all

I have a scenario where I’m having to revisit an old SSIS Package that was developed some 4/5 years ago and I’m having a particular challenge dealing with an error / issue when trying to run the package from Visual Studio (2015).

Essentially, I’m receiving the following error relating to the embedded Excel Connection Manager – The requested OLE DB provider Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.15.0 is not registered. If the 32-bit driver is not installed, run the package in 64-bit mode.

I’ve tried a few things (such as the references in this post – learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/360877/the-microsoft-ace-oledb-15-0-provider-is-not-regis ) but I’m struggling to resolve the problem. Seemingly I’ve installed both 32bit and 64 bit instances of Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 (as can see these under Programs and Features) but I’m still not seeing Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.15.0 registered as a Provider.
