VirtualBox 7.0.8 as a maintenance update fixes a number of bugs
An update to version 7.0.8 is available for the VirtualBox. This is a maintenance update. So without new functions. But a large number of corrections were made. Here is a selection:
- General improvements in the area of nested visualization have been introduced
- Fixed EFLAGS.TF handling for CPUID instructions when using Hyper-V
- Fixes MONITOR/MWAIT crash with Solaris guests when using Hyper-V on Windows 11
- Fixes and validation for VM settings in USB filter editor, filter port value is now saved/restored correctly
- Fixed the embedded editors for the VM name and the OS type in the details window
- Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack: Fixes in shipping cryptographic support module for full VM encryption
- Fixed various graphics issues with Windows 7 guests
- Introduced the modifynvram enrollmok subcommand to register the machine owner key in NVRAM so that the Linux guest kernel can retrieve it to verify the signature of modules signed with that key
- Linux Guest Extensions and Host Drivers: Introducing initial support for kernel 6.3
- Linux Guest Additions: Added experimental support for reloading kernel modules and user services at the end of the installation process, so that a guest reboot is generally no longer required after upgrading from Guest Additions (7.0.8 and newer).
