Upgrading ChromiumOS kernel to Mainline
I would like to upgrade the base kernel on the old Asus C201 Chromebook, which is being defined inside underlying ChromeOS/ChromiumOS. Current kernel in use is the 3.x series Linux kernel, and I would like to use the Mainline, possibly 6.x Debian kernel. The operating system in use is Debian and it loads from the SD card. Computer has been deblobbed with older release of Coreboot or Libreboot.
I have read somewhere that I might be able to use the default Debian kernel, pack it into a ChromiumOS image format and run that. And that it is advisable to test with some usb storage first (in case I have it installed on the internal storage).
