Track Editor, what should it be good for as doing nothing already there? (in: Tracktion)

I had another look at it over the weekend and I could see it being useful for comparing alignment of various tracks, as in you could display tracks 2, 15 and 27 in one window. I got the zoom to sync, so changes in one window affected the other, so that was fine, however I still couldn’t use the mouse to shift the entire clip, resize the clip, or offset the waveform inside the clip, which, if you’re trying to split and align stuff is not the best.
