the limiter is there to ensure no clipping. Due to the frequency changes the volume in certain frequency areas changes quite drastically and the limiter helps to avoid overshoots. ARC for example calculates this and instead of a limiter it reduces the output which you then have to compensate for.

I used the limiter as an actual limiter though. I simply disabled the correction part. It is a VERY basic limiter but a nice one at that.
