The Unicode::Emoji::REGEX now supports unqualified Emoji sequences
Unqualified refers to recommended Emoji sequences that miss the special codepoint U+FE0F (Variation Selector 16) . For example, the Emoji “man golfing” can appear in all three forms:
🏌️♂️ (U+1F3CC U+FE0F U+200D U+2642 U+FE0F): Fully-qualified/FQE,
🏌️♂️ (U+1F3CC U+200D U+2642 U+FE0F): Minimally-qualified/MQE, or
🏌♂ (U+1F3CC U+200D U+2642): Unqualified/UQE.
With the just released version 3.8.0, the unicode-emoji gem lets you choose which level of Emoji support you want.
