systemd – Can’t disable pipewire in Ubuntu 24.04.2
I’m trying to completely disable pipewire on an Ubuntu 24.04.2 machine. So far I have tried:
sudo systemctl --global disable pipewire.service
sudo systemctl --global disable pipewire.socket
sudo systemctl --global disable pipewire-pulse.service
sudo systemctl --global disable pipewire-pulse.socket
sudo systemctl --global disable wireplumber.service
I have also tried to disable it for an individual user:
systemctl --user disable pipewire.service
systemctl --user disable pipewire.socket
systemctl --user disable pipewire-pulse.service
systemctl --user disable pipewire-pulse.socket
systemctl --user disable wireplumber.service
However when I log in, even after a reboot, there are pipewire processes running. What am I missing? Is there some bit of config that needs to change?
