Surprised no one mentioned Hive 2 yet. Per-step arp/seq, but also shape sequencer, function generator, all sorts of modulation, and the mod matrix can quantize pitch, so you can make constantly evolving and generative sounds easily. Since it’s using modular modulation it helps to learn how to use, modify, and combine signals. e.g., Shape A at 1/4, Shape B at 1/2, sum/invert them in the mod matrix and the signals create new rhythmic waveforms.
