Study of the Natural Vibrations of Homogeneous Orthotropic Waveguides Using Finite Element Method

The natural vibrations of homogeneous waveguides with cross-sections in the form of a height-limited trapezoid, triangle or rectangle are studied. The waveguide material is orthotropic. The finite element method is used for calculation. The FlexPDE finite element software is applied for the study. The locking frequencies and vibration modes are obtained. The locking frequencies found by using the finite element method are compared with similar results obtained by semi-analytical methods.
