I was so annoyed when V7 was announced that I decided to have a serious look at other DAWs and spent some serious time with Reaper which I felt met my needs the best.
The showstopper for me was its performance when compared to S1 because when I stress tested it using the plugins that I use and the virtual instruments that I use then S1 was about 30% more CPU efficient, i.e. I could add about 30% more tracks before it started to sputter and render times for identical projects were about 30% quic…
