WaveSpectral is a spectral synthesizer. It doesn’t play your sample back the way a sampler does. It first analyzes it, breaking the sound into its individual frequencies, the way a spectrogram shows them. Then it rebuilds the sound from those frequencies in real time. Since you play with the frequency content itself rather than the recording, you can reshape a sound in ways a sampler or a granular synth can’t.
