All your existing projects will continue to open as they used to. NKIs are not called up when loading a DAW project – the latest used state is embedded into the project file. This is why the project file can grow large when using a lot of large orchestral libraries etc.

This does mean that if you want to use, for example, some of those Play Series libraries after the latest update, you will need K7 to open them. But you don’t need the full version, the free Player will of course be sufficient.
