output gain can be useful on sends too, for example if you compare different verbs with different output levels. But yeah it’s mainly for inserts, which seems relevant here because this plugins big fat main knob is literally the mix control. If there really are users out there that are overwhelmed by the “complexity” of an output knob (spoiler: they don’t exist) they will probably not use this plugin anyway. Too many knobs already.
