I have made a couple of simple modifications to a 128 to allow playing strapped on and connection free, in two different playing positions. I made two pieces from 1/8″ thick ABS plastic which is easy to cut and bend (using a heat gun). I use all four strap buttons and two crossed straps. The ABS pieces are screwed on where the wood usually is, using the same screws.
