i guess i’m not explaining my thoughts well enough. i think it absolutely matters and is why not all models are equal. if that were true then all the prophet 5 emulations would sound identical. but they obviously do not which is why some people prefer some to others. also, you can get 5 original 808s next to each other and they will have variances in tone for the instruments. so, a schematic showing the circuit isn’t the only thing to consider. if someone copies that circuit and builds a hardwar…
