Relationship between Kontakt, Kontakt 5 and Kontakt 6

Thanks for your responses.

So the folder in NI named ‘Kontakt’ is actually Kontakt 6? And the program Maschine launches, which called simply ‘Kontakt’ is Kontakt 6?

Is it a potential issue, having Kontakt 5 and Kontakt 6 installed simultaneously?

nb I noticed in Konakt’s settings that the sample rate is 48k and it won’t allow me to permanently change it to 44.1k which is the sample rate everything else on the system uses (I wondered if that could be an issue, which is why I tried to change it, but it just flips back to 48k)

The ‘USB Buffer settings’, as measured by the NI Maschine Mk3 Control Panel = 4ms. Is this the buffer setting you meant? I’ve experimented with increasing and decreasing it – no benefit.

The processor – Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz, ~2.7GHz – is single core, first generation. I gather single core is not ideal but Maschine had been running a lot better on this processor than it is now, so it must be a different problem.
