You can use random as trigger source for group switching, just set the “random lo/hi” values to desired range in the 0-1 interval (i.e. for four layers, layer 1: 0 – 0.25, layer 2: 0.25 – 0.50, etc).

And yes, for the matrix, you can further distribute the random value using the modulation curve. As for some values getting hit (subjectively) more often than others; Well, psuedo-random is indeed psuedo. In the end, the distribution should be fairly gaussian, though to be fair, TX uses a noise function here, not a normal-distributed random, so it is not really guaranteed to distribute fully equal… (which btw true random does neither)
