r – Unable to install package (StepReg)

I am unable to install the StepReg package with R (version 4.2.2) and R -Studio on Linux 12 Debian Bookworm, the output from my attempted package install using the install.package("StepReg") command was

ERROR: dependencies ‘gdtools’, ‘officer’, ‘ragg’, ‘xml2’ are not available for package flextable

ERROR: dependencies ‘flextable’, ‘summarytools’ are not available for package StepReg

I installed both missing dependencies (summarytools and flextable) using pak::pkg_install() and when I tried calling the StepReg package using this command library (StepReg)

I got this response in Rstudio:

Error in library(StepReg): there is no package called StepReg

What else should I do to complete installing the StepReg package?
