Question – How many pins in an ARM CPU ?

It’s easy to find out how many pins in an Intel or an AMD CPU, but I haven’t been able to find out how many pins in an ARM CPU. I’m not referring to the GPIO pins but the pins on the ARM CPU itself.

I currently have a Mac mini but I want to try out Linux. I can’t make up my mind between an ARM board or an Intel board or an AMD board. I read online something about both Intel & AMD drivers are included in the kernel.

The advantage to a X86 board is that I can try out any Linux distro. I guess that a X86 board is more compatible with drivers & software. There may be software that I like that isn’t compatible with ARM. There aren’t too many distros optimized for ARM. With regard to ARM, I’m leaning towards Debian. I like Linux Mint but, as of yet, there’s no ARM-optimized distro for Mint.
