Parametric Easy Screw Top Container Maker, FreeCAD Generator, Larger by MrScott | Download free STL model

Please see the original; this is my first try of FreeCAD.

When I scaled up the original parametric model to 120 mm ID and 205 mm inside height (keeping mice from making nests out of the rolls of RV TP in our travel trailer; holds 2 rolls), the gripper divots extended beyond the threads.  Also the threads were 20 threads (20 turns to open / close), which was more than I wanted.

Increasing wall thickness to 3mm made the threads coarser (2mm instead of 1mm), which helped.

Added a distance limit parameter for the screw thread height.

The first print’s screw threads were quite tight; you may want to scale up the cap slightly in X,Y.  Adding 0.3mm to a 120 mm ID used an X,Y scale factor of 100% x 120.3mm / 120mm = 100.25% (scaling Z differently from the container would mismatch the thread pitches).  It’s still printing; may tweak it further).

Added small (0.2mm high) fillets at the outside tips of the threads, which may help by removing the outermost bit of the threads.

Printed in PETG (could use any filament); I used 2 wall loops, 25% fill which seems quite sturdy so far.

The author remixed this model.

Limited diameter of grip divots (hard-coded max; may need further tweaking for larger diameters).

Added thread height limit setting, distance.

Added small fillets at the tips of the threads.
