Output configuration in Visual Studio
To configure Visual Studio to divert .exe files to a temporary local folder instead of OneDrive, you can change the output path in your project settings. Here’s how to do it:
- Clean the project or solution to remove any existing output files by selecting Build > Clean Solution.
- Right-click on the project node in Solution Explorer and select Properties.
- Depending on your project type:
- For C# projects, expand the Build section and scroll down to the Output subsection.
- For Visual Basic projects, expand the Compile section and look under General.
- Find the Base output path (for C#) or Output path (for Visual Basic) and type in the path to your temporary local folder (e.g.,
C:\Temp\Output), or choose Browse to select the folder. - Make sure to repeat these steps for all configurations (Debug, Release, etc.) as needed.
By doing this, your .exe files will be generated in the specified temporary local folder instead of being saved to OneDrive.
