Optimize system response time for real-time media (in: Acon Digital)

By default, Windows reserves up to 20% of CPU performance for background services. For a DAW or low-latency monitoring, this value should be reduced.

Navigate to the following location in Regedit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile

Look for the SystemResponsiveness DWORD value.

Change the decimal value from 20 to 10 (or, for testing purposes on dedicated audio PCs, to 0 (zero)).
