Hey guys! Quick technical update / discovery,
Testing the new mastering presets that Velltone built for Cascade, I stumbled upon an unintended side effect that blew me away: a very noticeable, organic stereo width expansion.
The crazy part? Cascade doesn’t even have a stereo widener in its design—there’s zero M/S trickery, no Haas effect, and no phase manipulation going on.
Because of how the Volterra series and Chebyshev polynomials model the memory of hardware preamps, electricity “flows”…
