Thanks for the suggestion, Alex. Given that LinnStrument’s primary function is expressive touch control, my view is that concave pads would impede the performance of pitch gestures, which require sliding across pads. I suggest taking a little time to get used to it, because every instrument requires some learning.

That said, you could test your idea by designing and 3D-printing a small section of pads, then learning if it solves the problem you perceive. I’m sure others in the forum would appreciate learning from your experience. If your idea is overwhelmingly popular, it could be worth spending the roughly $7000 to create a new metal mold to produce silicone touch surfaces with concave pads.
