Yes, it’s not supposed to be realistic. Just a different way of thinking about sound design. Some “unreal” things:
* You can reduce the accuracy of the model (i.e. the number of points by which the string is represented) to introduce dispersion, and therefore inharmonicity. It sounds metallic and bell like.
* You can modulate the position of the pickup up to audio rate, which does some AM type things.
And… that’s about it I think 😆 but the sound palette is pretty broad. Check out the vi…
