Recently my DAW PC was stolen in a home burglary (No one was home, and they only got away with some old electronic gear – none of it worth much).
Even my home-built DAW PC was going on 9 years old, and I was already putting together a parts list for an upgrade. All my software, serials, and data were safely backed up elsewhere, so no big loss all around.
