Modders turbocharge Fallout 4: DLSS, FSR, and XeSS, all of which are now available with a fan made patch
The innovative upscaling and ‘intelligent’ upsampling features have prompted independent programmer ‘PureDark’ to create a Fallout 4 fan made patch that makes Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG compatible with DLSS, FSR, and XeSS.
The amateur version of Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic blockbuster, which was distributed for free by the author on the pages of NexusMods, “turbocharges,” players can increase their resolution or framerate by activating one of the NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel upscalers.
The stated objective of the modder is to allow owners of older computers to explore the Boston Contaminated Area without encountering the annoying framerate drops that occur in denser sections of buildings or in more intense combat phases. It claims that activating an upscaler like DLSS 2 or FSR 2 on more performing computers produces a sharper experience than that offered by ‘only’ Temporal Anti-Aliasing.
In any event, the fan made patch does not appear to be compatible with modifications that modify the Bethesda’s original system of managing dynamic resolution, such as the amateur expansions that rely on the tool ENB to enhance the graphics of Fallout 4.
