MKSREC Kruszyna

Kruszyna brings the character of an early 12-bit sampler to tracks and buses in real time. Its circuit model has been tuned against the original hardware, capturing its steep input filter, 12-bit converter irregularities, analogue playback path and the 26.01 kHz sample rate measured on the reference unit. Higher Sample Rate and Bit Depth settings can sound more subtle. Lower settings expose the held samples and quantisation, while high frequencies fold back into the audible range. Raise In Gain to drive the signal into converter clipping.

The original hardware records first and plays back later. Kruszyna joins those stages into a continuous path so it can be used on a track or bus. Bit Depth, Sample Rate, Density, Age, Glitch, Slew and 3D extend that character into sounds the original machine could not make.

Kruszyna is pronounced kroo-SHEE-nah. In Polish, it means a little bit of something.

Kruszyna runs as a fully functional demo until registered. Processed audio follows a repeating 51-second cycle: 45 seconds at full level, a 3-second fade all the way down, then an immediate 3-second fade back up.
