Microsoft’s sales soar while Google’s Alphabet stumbles
Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has come out with its third-quarter results. Although the numbers have topped Wall Street expectations, the company’s revenues from cloud services fell short of an expected $8.6 billion to a reported $8.41 billion. This has been the Google Cloud service’s slowest growth in the last 11 quarters, since at least the first quarter of 2021.
While Alphabet’s total revenues for the quarter stood at $64.05 billion compared to expectations of $63.04 billion, shares of Google went down by 5% in early hours due to the cloud numbers miss despite checking the revenue boxes on YouTube and its search engine.
