Micro Sampler turns Waveform into a memory hog – Tracktion Forum

I have a project template with about six instances of Micro Sampler on Tracktion Waveform 13 Free, and I’ve noticed that it took longer to load the template with them than without them. I decided to investigate why this was happening so I looked at task manager. Waveform occupies well over 4GB of RAM while loading the template and deleting the instances reduces the amount of memory used down to less than 1GB. I don’t have any synth or Kontakt in the template, only light third party effect plugins from plugin alliance and kilohearts.

I made sure that I carried this out while the system had just started and only windows applications and processes (Microsoft edge was diasbled) were running in the background without an internet connection. Why is this a concern? The template crashed Waveform several times due to insufficient memory. My system is Windows 10 Pro 22H2 with 8GB of RAM.
Is it just me or has anyone else faced the same issue.
