Marxos : Marxophone Orchestra by Wrongtools

Marxos is made from a rather large collection of Marxophones.

Old strings, strange little hammers, trembling cascades, plucks, bounces and mechanical noises. We recorded the instruments in detail, then kept going.

Some Marxophones were prepared with cork, rubber, foam and jewellery. Others were sent through tape machines, spring reverbs, amps, Leslie speakers and analog hardware. E-bows found their way onto the strings. Contact microphones were attached directly to them.

The result became a hodge-podge of acoustic Marxophones, delicate repetitions, smeared plucks, wonky percussion, hazy pads, strange orchestral colours and sounds that are a little harder to explain:
