Machine Creation Services fails during image preparation on Google Cloud Platform
While CMEK and Shielded VMs are supported by Citrix, we are currently unable to accommodate the use/requirement of these features on the PrepVM due to limitations in the Google Cloud Platform API.
- Building the PrepVM currently requires exporting the Master GCP instance disk to VHDX via Google Computer Engine. The Google Compute Engine does not currently support the use of CMEK to decrypt the existing disk for conversion, or to save the exported disk as encrypted VHDX.
- CMEK can be utilized for finalized VDAs and is configurable during the catalog creation in Studio.
- Generating PrepVM as Shielded VM (TPM, SecureBoot, and Integrity Monitoring enabled) is also currently unsupported.
- If these properties exist on the Master image/machine template then they will be cloned to the finalized VDAs.
