Loop recording and Undo Ctrl-Z behavior — experience and preference (in: Hosts and Applicat…)

Once upon a time I would’ve just installed a ton of DAWs and checked each one. This time I just tried Cubase, S1, Bitwig, and Ableton Live.

I’m generally reasonably sure when I’ve played something well enough to keep, so when I do, in Live I simply stop the process, and press undo to remove the last clip. This is almost always a partial loop without anything on it. All the clips from the previous record cycles will still be there in their entirety and you can undo/redo through them as you wish….
