Looking for practical resources to study Unified Namespace & IIoT with Ignition + MQTT (Sparkplug B) | PLCS.net
Hi everyone,
I’m an industrial controls engineer currently diving deeper into applying IIoT and Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts using Ignition and MQTT with Sparkplug B.
I’m an industrial controls engineer currently diving deeper into applying IIoT and Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts using Ignition and MQTT with Sparkplug B.
I’m already familiar with Ignition, MQTT basics, and the theory behind UNS, but now I’m looking to practice and solidify these concepts through hands-on exercises. Specifically, I’m looking for:
- Practical labs or small project examples
- Exercises for setting up a structured UNS
- Guidelines for modeling Sparkplug B topics properly
- Simulating devices and publishing MQTT data (with or without Ignition Edge)
- Real-world architecture samples or test environments
- Recommended tools/software for building a personal lab setup
I’ve already explored the Inductive University and Cirrus Link documentation, but would love to know if the community has any additional material, GitHub repos, documentation, or tips that helped you along the way.
Any suggestions or shared experience would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
