Kontrol S5 ASIO causes artifacts with Ableton Link + Beat Sync + Key Lock

Hi everyone,

I have found what appears to be a reproducible issue with the Kontrol S5 ASIO driver.

System

  • Windows 11
  • Traktor Pro 4.5.1.21
  • Kontrol S5
  • Latest S5 ASIO driver

Reproduction

Artifacts occur only when:

  • Ableton Link = ON
  • Beat Sync = ON
  • Key Lock = ON
  • Audio Device = Kontrol S5 ASIO

The artifacts start immediately after enabling Link.

Ableton Live does not even need to join the Link session.

What I tested

  • Latest Traktor version
  • Latest S5 driver
  • Different USB ports
  • Different USB cable
  • Buffer 256 / 512
  • Multi-Core ON/OFF
  • Internal Mixing
  • WAV files
  • LatencyMon
  • FlexASIO
  • ASIO4ALL

No improvement.

Interesting observation

When I change only the audio device from Kontrol S5 ASIO to a Behringer UMC1820 ASIO, while keeping every other Traktor setting identical, the artifacts disappear immediately.

Has anyone with a Kontrol S5 (or maybe S8 / S4 MK2) experienced the same behavior?
