That’s one of the things I always find the most obvious, when comparing synths: The sound when you “close” the filter envelope. Some sound really lame then, no power, no oomph, no beef, and some get really beefy and ballsy.
And, yeah, Serum definitely excels in that regard, in that comparison. Although, as far as I read, Deadmau5 used a lot of Synth Squad in his earlier stuff. I don’t know if Serum already was released when he produced that track (which one is it anyway? I know it, but, I’m not good with names.).
Plugins and a DAW. On an operating system. Which runs on a computer.
