Install from ubuntu-24.04.2-desktop-amd64 to USB modifies Windows boot time/date. ESP problem?
Install from Live 24lts to USB modifies Windows boot time/date. EFI problem?
Created Live with unetbootin and a second one with etcher on windows machine.
Booted into live and tried to install on a USB but it failed.
Booted back into Windows and the date/time was screwed up on Windows. Happened a couple of times.
Is ubuntu install mucking with Windows (boot or clock?). Everything is supposed to be happening between the live boot and the target install usb.
USB install of full system still eludes me, but now worried more attempts will corrupt my windows install.
Found this, but not yet confident enough to try! Is there a simpler way? itsfoss.com/intsall-ubuntu-on-usb/
(my expertise about UEFI: very low!)
