Insight SIP adds to ISP2454 Bluetooth module range

The move follows strong interest in the recently introduced ISP2454‑LX module, which is based on Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF54L15 wireless system-on-chip.

The updated product range now includes three ISP2454 variants, each designed to address different application requirements while sharing a common hardware foundation. All modules are built around the same nRF54L15 radio and processor and feature an integrated antenna, delivering consistent radio performance across the range.

According to Insight SIP, the three variants are pin‑ and footprint‑compatible with one another, allowing manufacturers to develop product families with differing performance or power characteristics using a single PCB design. The new modules are also compatible with the company’s earlier ISP15, ISP18 and ISP19 series, easing migration for existing customers.

The ISP2454‑LL is positioned as the entry‑level option. It is supplied as a fully integrated module and does not require external components to establish a wireless connection. However, it does not include the 32kHz low‑frequency timing crystal that optimises power consumption. This version is aimed at applications where power usage is less critical, such as mains‑powered equipment or systems in which overall consumption is determined by higher‑power components, including cellular modems or high‑performance processors.

The ISP2454‑LX, which is currently in production, includes the full set of power‑saving features, including the 32kHz crystal. Insight SIP said this variant is intended to suit a broad range of applications, balancing processing capability, radio performance and low‑power operation.

A third option, the ISP2454‑LP, adds an additional 4MB of onboard flash memory. This expanded non‑volatile storage is designed to support larger and more complex software stacks, such as Matter‑based applications that may approach the limits of the standard 1.5MB memory. The extra capacity can also be used to manage over‑the‑air firmware updates, with support for rollback if an update fails, or to store data locally in systems that transmit information to the cloud or other back‑end services at infrequent intervals.

Insight SIP said the expanded ISP2454 lineup is intended to give product developers greater choice while maintaining a common platform for wireless design and certification.
