Influence of emitted pulses on the laser range profile
This study investigates the impact of different transmitted pulses on the laser one-dimensional range profile of targets, using a monostatic laser radar system. The target models, including a flat plate, cone, sphere, and airplane, are illuminated with various pulse waveforms, pulse widths, and pulse repetition rates, and the corresponding one-dimensional range profiles are obtained. The results reveal that the pulse waveform has a negligible influence on the range profile when the same target model is illuminated by different pulse waveforms. When the pulse width is significantly smaller than the target size, high-quality imaging is achieved; however, when the pulse width increases, the imaging tends to approximate the transmitted waveform. The pulse repetition rate has the influence of anti-noise and analysis of echo loss for range profiles. The findings indicate that the transmitted pulse characteristics significantly influence the imaging quality of the one-dimensional range profile, providing valuable insights for target characteristic analysis and recognition.
