How to Install .dll VST3s in my DAW – Instruments Forum

VST3 instruments are not .dll, those are VST2

VST3 instruments are labelled .vst3

On a PC VST3 plugins always install to C:/Program Files/Common Files/VST3 folder

On my PC VST2 plugins go to C:/Program Files/Vstplugins

Usually sample data would be installed in a default location – doesn’t the installer show the location you when installing? It would usually create a folder with the plugin or manufacturer’s name in C:/Program Files/”manufacturer name” or perhaps in C:/Users/”PC name”/AppData/Roaming/”manufacturer name”
